ANNUAL RECERTIFICATION

2026 RECERTIFICATION FOR CURRENT REFEREES WILL BE OPEN AROUND SEPTEMBER 1, 2025

ALERT! THE REGISTRATION FOR REFEREE CANDIDATES AND RECERTIFICATION FOR THE 2026 REFEREE BADGE YEAR IS CLOSED AS OF JUNE 1, 2026. THE SYSTEM WILL RE-OPEN FOR 2027 REFEREE BADGE YEAR IN MID- JULY 2026.

US Soccer announces new classifications for referees: Referee, Regional, National and Professional

All U.S. Soccer Referees require annual recertification, including: online modules, online testing and Safesport refresher.

Additionally, Regional Referees require an annual fitness test and on-field assessments.

National and Professional Referees recertify directly with U.S. Soccer.

To complete recertification:

Log into your EPSARC account*
Register for a Recertification Clinic
- Referees (including Emeritus)
  - Recertification clinic – Online lessons only
- Regional Referees
  - Advanced clinic – online lessons and in-person attendance
  - Fitness Test – as appropriate
- Assignors, Instructors, Assessors
Complete Pre-Clinic items:
- Online modules
- Online test
- Current background clearances
  - Must be completed every 5 years – The referee is responsible for uploading new clearance documents to OMS!
  - NOTE: In the event that you are updating your RMO Fingerprint Evaluation, you must use only code 1KG6XN
- SafeSport training
  - Must be refreshed every year – The referee is responsible for uploading new clearance documents to OMS!
Badges will be mailed from a 3rd party vendor upon completion ASAP.- DO NOT CALL THE OFFICE ABOUT THE ISSUANCE OF YOUR BADGE! OSI IS A THIRD PARTY VENDOR AND YOUR UPDATED BADGE WILL ARRIVE EVENTUALLY.

*PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT PAYMENT MUST BE MADE IN ADVANCE OF THE NEXT STEPS! ADDITIONALLY, AS PROCESSING REQUIREMENTS HAVE CHANGED AS OF 7/1/2025, REFUNDS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE. PAYMENT MUST BE MADE BY CREDIT CARD THROUGH THE OMS SYSTEM.
