- What do I need to do to become a US Soccer referee?
Visit www.epsarc.org > Referees > Become a Referee
Basically, you will need to:

- Register for an upcoming Entry Level hybrid course (these are hosted by local clubs)
- Complete the online lessons, including SafeSport
- Complete the mandatory Background Clearances
- Attend a field session
- I didn’t complete my recertification for 2020. What do I do for 2021?
You may recertify as long as your license hasn’t lapsed more than 3 years.
Log into your OMS referee account (www.epsarc.org) and from the “I want to” drop down menu select “Register for a clinic or fitness test”.
The available clinics will be listed. All requirements are completed online only (no in-person clinic)
- It’s been more than 3 years since I last registered as a US Soccer official.
You will need to take the Entry Level course again. See #1 above.
- I lost my badge – how do I get a new one?
Log into your OMS referee account (www.epsarc.org) and from the “I want to” drop down menu select “Order a replacement badge”.
Badges will be mailed within 2 weeks to the address in your account.
- How do I get games? How do I contact an Assignor?

- Visit our website at epsarc.org and click on About Us > Referee Assignors for a list of assignors. Reach out to them with your information and availability and ask how they handle their assigning process.
- Check with your local clubs to explore opportunities to work their intramural/rec games.
- For a list of sanctioned tournaments, visit the Youth Soccer Association website www.epysa.org > Cups/Competitions > Tournament Sanctioning > blue link: Complete list of current tournaments.
- I signed up for an Entry Level course in early 2020 and it was cancelled due to Covid. What should I do?

- You should have been refunded the $100 course fee. If you weren’t please contact Joanne at epsarcoffice@gmail.com and she’ll look into it.
- You have the option to register again for an upcoming Entry Level course.
- Check the website for upcoming clinics
- Log into your OMS account & click on Registration. Continue through the prompts.
- Register for a new clinic (only those with availability will be an option)
- If none of the clinics fit your schedule, sign up for the Online Pre-Clinic which allows you to begin the work, and then transfer to a field session clinic at a later date.
- Your background clearances if current would still be valid
- If you’re missing any, refer to the information here.
- You will get credit for the long 4-hour lesson you did in the US Soccer Learning Center.
- You will get credit if you completed Safesport.
- You will need to complete the remaining lessons which include updates to the Laws of the Game and a refresher test.
- Finally, you’ll need to attend the in-person field session.
7. I don’t see an Entry Level hybrid field session course in my area.
The Entry Level courses are hosted by local clubs and organizations. Once requested, EPSARC will approve them, post to the website, and assign Instructors. Reach out to your local clubs if you don’t see one near you, and inquire if they would be interested in hosting an entry level field session course.
